Sovereign Grace Church is grateful to be a church with a rich history of God’s activity and faithfulness to us. Some of our richest assets as a church family are our seasoned members, many of whom have walked with the Lord for decades.
While we’re excited about the ways God is stirring up a new generation of disciples and leaders for our future, we know that those who have walked ahead of us are essential. Our leaders and mentors are critical for what it means to be a vibrant and healthy church.
For that reason, the older believers regularly meet in order to remind each other of the privilege they have to help the next generation grow in the Lord. Just as Paul reminded Titus in his letter, we’re aware that maturity is a necessary ingredient for mentoring in the local church. So our oldest generation encourages each other to grow in aspects of maturity so that they can be an example to those who follow.
In addition to this type of encouragement, meetings also provide a context for fellowship and teaching for the unique needs of this season of life. It’s exciting to see how our church is maturing as a body. If you’d like to join us and get involved, please see a pastor or one of our leaders.
